Hope for the future? That depends. With the state of things today, one has to wonder if can there be hope for each of us, for this country, for our world as we head into a new century. It depends on where our hope lies; in what, or who, we chose to place our trust. It may be that we depend on the strength of others to get us through: Loved ones, like a spouse, parent, grandparent, children. We may depend on our jobs to provided our needs: financial, social, etc.
But wherever we place our hope and trust, all things and people on earth will eventually fail us, at least to some extent. Our hope must be in something bigger, Someone who is greater than we are, Someone who has always been and always will be there for us. That Someone is our Lord Jesus. Our salvation, our strength, our Redeemer. Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the author and finisher of our faith.
He is worthy of our trust, our hope, our love. When all else fails, and it will, He is the One who will carry us through. Relationships fail, money runs out, computers crash - Put your trust in the One who will NEVER fail, and there absolutely, positively IS HOPE! God Bless You!
